This morning I woke up and before actually getting up, I laid there a minute to run through all the things I would be doing to get through the day like I often do. And then I realized something: I didn’t have to be any where today. And it felt real good.
I still had things I had to do, but I didn’t have to be at any specific place at any specific time like the last 3 months of my life have been.
Needless to say, it was very relaxing; doing things on my own time. I watched a movie called Ping Pong Playa. It wasn’t all that good. Had some humorous moments. Worked on some songs — some for a wedding this weekend; some of my own. Got a late lunch at a smokehouse and some good beers with a friend I don’t see often enough. And now I’m off to fix up some chicken noodle soup for my under-the-weather sister-in-law. That’s a whole lot of hyphens.
And to boot, I didn’t wake up today hungover. This is one for the books!
