Days Off in Tennessee and Kentucky

It was pretty nice to have 2 days off on the tour. But, it would’ve been nicer if the weather was a bit more accommodating. We had loose plans of camping and hiking around the various parks just north of Knoxville town. The parks were located around some lakes and I was looking forward to shaking off the winter a bit more by taking in the beautiful scenery. Weather permitting, of course – and it did not permit. It even snowed a little one morning.

Instead, we filled our days with checking out the city and it’s various shops looking for postcards with the sunsphere pictured, admiring some gorgeous instruments at the consignment shop, catching Alice In Wonderland at the theater, and drinking lots of coffee and beer while listening to local acts singing local tunes. It was a good time regardless of the weather. Take that Nature!

Now we are in Kentucky visiting some old pals and doing some laundry. It’s good to see a familiar face other than Hanson’s, and it is good to have some clean clothes.
