Things and Stuff

My good friend Stetson reminded me the other week that I haven’t written anything on this here blog in waaaay too long. So here are some random observations I have made of late:

Snow in New York City is beautiful….for about 20 minutes. And then that clean white canvas really shows you how dirty this place is. I wish that slate could stick around a bit longer. And I am not looking forward to digging out the 3 foot wall of snow that the plow made around the car.

I was amazed today at how many people in the grocery store were singing along with that song “Every Time You Go Away, You Take A Piece Of Me With You”. No foolin’, about 3 out of 4 people I passed were signing out loud. And I’m kinda in the ghetto.

Just because I have a long beard and a few worn items of clothing doesn’t mean I’m homeless and need your change. Maybe I’m just sitting on a bench drinking coffee and enjoying the nice winter day. Jeeez.

Being able to listen to records again has been awesome. Where did I get a Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five record? I don’t know. But it’s awesome.

Amanda is seriously into knitting these days. She’s making scarves and hats and ponchos and sweaters… It makes me wish I knew how to make stuff. I mean, she can make all of her own clothes out of balls of yarn. I can’t make anything except tacos. Which I guess is pretty awesome. Tacos are good. Maybe I’ve got something to teach her now that I think about it.

I got a kindle for Christmas and have been utilizing the free options of late. My love for Mark Twain is being rekindled (get it?). I love free books. And an electronic reader is actually not as awkward as I thought it would be.

I’m gonna stop now because this entry is boring. But I felt I needed to post something…anything…just to appease the masses. Next time I’m gonna tell you a good story, I promise.
